Division 03 · Ages 9–13

Old enough for the real thing.

This division is built on something eleven-year-olds almost never get: actual trust. They run their own stations in a working kitchen, with real equipment and real heat. They take on real learning, with room for the questions they actually ask. And they reach their Bar or Bat Mitzvah having done a great deal more than memorize a reading.

What the year holds

Trusted with the real thing.

  1. The kitchen, theirs to run

Their own stations, real equipment, real heat. They measure, they knead, they burn a batch and make it again.

  2. Learning that respects them

Torah, an introduction to Talmud, and room for the questions this age actually asks rather than the ones adults expect.

  3. Creative projects and journaling

Real time in the art studio, plus writing that stays private. Not everything a twelve-year-old makes needs to be handed in.

  4. Bar and Bat Mitzvah preparation

The Mitzvah Crew and the Bat Mitzvah Club each prepare for the day itself, with one-on-one coaching worked around your family's date. Call Rabbi Caytak to talk through the timeline.

This division follows the school's Sunday rhythm with more depth, more responsibility and more freedom in the kitchen. See how a Sunday runs.
